Balwin Properties is a leading construction & property management company that specializes in constructing & managing large-scale multi-residential and single-family properties. In early 2020, they implemented AssetPool’s Smart Inspection Software to streamline their construction QAQC inspection processes. We helped them onboard over 600 users;

from Friday to Monday they went from a paper process to a digital inspection platform. Before implementing AssetPool, Balwin Properties had to manually track, manage, and report all building inspections and QAQCs (quality assurance quality control). This was a time-consuming and inefficient process that often resulted in construction delays including delays in the “need to know” info not being reported quick enough. With AssetPool, their entire inspection process has become automated and streamlined. Now, Balwin Properties is able to quickly and accurately schedule, track, and report QAQC inspections with ease. Balwin Properties builds about 3,000 apartments per year, with a typical apartment having about 17 separate QAQC inspections each one being on a piece of paper. That is 51,000 pieces of paper that no longer need to be filed. The construction of an apartment block requires an electrical inspection, plumbing, plastering, kitchen installation, etc. which now can be completed on a cell phone. This information is available immediately to the site managers who can then use the information to keep the job running smoothly. Each site manager and regional manager can monitor the construction progress of any apartment and risk dashboard with a click of a button. Smart Inspection Software also provides Balwin Properties with visibility into their inspection process. On average, Balwin can have 17 different construction sites operating at once between Cape Town, Gauteng and Kwazulu Natal. With AssetPool they can make sure that there is company wide unity and quality control assurance. With the software, they are able to view the status of all inspections, view detailed reports, and receive real-time updates. This allows them to make more informed decisions and ensure that all inspections are completed in a timely manner.
